I believe great web design is not just creating a good looking page with fancy typefaces, colors, and images. Those should be called "print". And that will only fulfil 30% of what a great website should be.
Good web design should make it functional, dynamic and multi-dimensional. Making a website presentable AND accessible, as well as delivering users a compelling experience is vital to its success.
When I work on a website, I focuses on injecting the remaining 70% to make your website complete in terms of:
Usability Studies
A usable website means it's intuitive, and let visitors navigate easily.
User Experience and Interactive Design
Appropriate interactive elements enhance users experience and site responsiveness.
Information Architecture Planning
Correctly placed information and content enables important messages of your company to be delivered efficiently to your potential customers.
Accessibility Enhancements
To make your web content accessible to all types of users.

This site was build with a minimalistic direction in mind. I used jQuery for the front-end interactions and AJAX calls. The site is valid to HTML5 and compatible to standard compliant browsers like Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
The camera-scrolling navigation should supports major desktop screen size. Netbooks with samller screens should see a vertical scrolling page instead. I decided not to make it compatible for IE to make it partially compatible with IE, I believed that if you care about web standards, you should be part of it to drive it, use standard compliant browsers :). The site is performance-tuned using YSlow evaluation tool and received Grade A using the Smallsite and Blog Ruleset.
